1 Jun 2007 - June Newsletter

Dear Parent(s),

Newsletter ? June 2007

Unbelievably we are just a few weeks from the end of another school year. I will be writing a newsletter in July which will detail classes for 2007/08 but would like to take this opportunity to mention a few things new.

Firstly I need to inform you that Miss Gayle Mitchell has decided to accept a post at St. Edward?s School in Aylesbury. Obviously I would like to thank Miss Mitchell for all her hard work, not just in the classroom but also in the various extra-curricular activities in which she has been involved. We would all like to wish Miss Mitchell every success in her new school. Miss Claire Rawlins-Smith has been appointed with effect from 1st September.

Year Five enjoyed, I hope, a very successful visit to the Isle of Wight. We were very lucky with the weather and I think the children were able to enjoy a variety of experiences which I am sure they will remember for many years. Year Six are due to go on their residential visit on 18th June. I am sure the children will have a lovely time. Year Two enjoyed a lovely seaside day. I would also like to thank those parents who helped Mrs Knight during her ?Groundforce Day? and made a donation. If you would like to volunteer regularly to help with the upkeep of the wildlife garden then please get in touch. We recently had a successful puppeteer visit and puppet show which was enjoyed by Reception through to Year 4.

I would like to remind you that your child?s end of year report ?should? be issued in the week beginning the 9th July.

We are also organising another school CD which should be available before the end of term. We are unsure of the cost at present but it should be around £5.

Finally, if you still have any Sainsbury?s or Tesco vouchers at home can you please send them in as soon as possible as the deadline date for both is very close. Please check those kitchen drawers and handbags or anywhere those vouchers seem to hide as every voucher helps and it may be your 2 or 3 vouchers that make the difference to us reaching our target. Many thanks.

Lastly I would like to pass on a concern that it has been noted that on a couple of occasions babies/very young children have been left in cars whilst parents have come to collect their children. Obviously this is a matter for parents but I do feel obliged to forward our concerns.

Yours sincerely,
